

James Sylvester Eads, III James Sylvester Eads, III, age 78, a resident of Lakeway since 1984, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2003. He was born September 21, 1925 in Richmond, California. Jim grew up in Conroe and graduated from Conroe High School in 1943. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas and served in the US Navy. He worked for Superior Oil Company from 1946 until his retirement in September 1981. Jim worked his way up in the company from drilling and oil production in the oil fields until his last assignment as Manager of Property Administration and Development. After his retirement, he continued to work in the petroleum industry as an independent contractor. He was a member of the Lakeway Mens Golf Association and was an avid golfer, having won several local competitions. Jim is survived by his wife, Marie Eads of Lakeway; his children, James M. Eads of Austin and Mark T. Eads of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Christine Peavy, Stacy Eads and Amy Eads; great-grandchild, Johnny Vincent Peavy and a sister, Jean King of Conroe. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd in Lakeway. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Clearfork Cemetery near Luling.
