I'll always remember Jim as a congenial and helpful colleague whom I enjoyed conversing with. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the University of Texas - I will never forget his pointing out a horse hitch (!) standing alone on University Avenue, the last remaining one of many from the early 20th century. May his soul rest in peace.
