

James Patrick Lennon was born in Saint Paul Minnesota, the first child of Catherine Marie Bassett Lennon and Warren James Lennon. He graduated as valedictorian of his class from Cretin High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 1959. He earned his BA degree in Mathematics from Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota in 1963. He received his MS degree in Mathematics in 1965 from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, he joined IBM as a systems engineer trainee where he worked his entire professional life of 32 two years with assignments in Saint Paul, Minneapolis, Moline, and Houston. While at IBM he earned four Golden Circle awards and made many friends. He retired in 1997 and moved to The Hills, Texas in 1999.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the challenges of The Hills Country Club courses. He was fortunate to be able to play some of the famous golf courses in Ireland and the United Kingdom. He enjoyed playing bridge and with the help of his wife Angela he became a bridge Life Master. He and Angela spent many years traveling together and were able to visit many countries on six different continents. He especially loved being a grandfather.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Angela Nacke Lennon, son Tom Lennon and his wife Maria (Katy, TX), daughter Jennifer Lennon (Richmond, TX), stepdaughters Ann Shippy MD and Laura Roberts (Austin, TX), and Onyay Pheori (Los Angeles, CA), grandchildren Nicole and Aislan Lennon (San Antonio, TX), and Joshua Lennon (Katy, TX), Ava (a.k.a Nyx) and Ella Alexander (Austin, TX), Grant and Reed Shippy (Austin, TX). He is also survived by his sister Betty Crossman and her husband Darryl (Minneapolis, MN), and several nieces and nephews.
