

MSGT. James Eugene McKinney was born November 11, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Albert McKinney and Ruth Short. He united in marriage to Ernestine Earls on May 9, 1957. To this union three children were born, Michael, Garland, and Andre'. James enlisted into the United States' Army 1951. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1971. He worked for the United Postal Service as a supervisor from 1971-1991. James McKinney (83) departed this life on March 30, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine; his parents; three brothers, Earl, Ronald, and Thompson McKinney; one son, Glen R. Black; granddaughter, Ursula Black and great-granddaughter, Vanessa McDonald; one brother-in-law, Rev. Chester L. Earls; nephew, Robert H. Coleman,Jr.; and great-niece and nephew, Kimberly Coleman, Robert H. Coleman,III and Domique Gaines.
James is survived by three sons, Michael, Garland, and Andre' McKinney; two daughters, Donna (Nathaniel) McRae and Carol (Thomas) Scales; four grandsons, Aaron (Felice), Harrison (Sandra), Garland, Jr, and Michael, Jr.; seven granddaughters, Raquel (Johnny), Calandra, Meshay, Celeste, Paulette, Monique, and Adriana; one sister, Vickie Turner; sister-in-laws, Ruthene Mckinney, and Otho Earls; and a very special cousin, Carol Jean Dickerson. His Legacy--survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, eight nephews, sixteen great- nephews, five great-great-nephews; nine nieces; twelve great-nieces, ten great-great nieces, and three great-great-great-nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
