

Our Beloved James completed his earthly journey and returned to his spiritual home Friday March 16, 2007. He was born in Beach Haven, New Jersey, August 12, 1933; joined the Air Force in 1951 and was stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base. While in Austin, he met and married Aurora Villanueva, settled in Austin and raised his family. In the early sixties, he built the family home in Southeast Austin and became involved in developing the community of Montopolis together with Father Fred Underwood, then pastor of Dolores Catholic Church. Jimmy had a varied work life, including twenty years of service to the City of Austin. His greatest personal achievement came in 1984 when he graduated from Southwest Texas Law Enforcement Academy and became a certified peace officer. He enjoyed camping as a Capital Camper and became a Master Mason with Hill City Lodge in 1998. He was preceded in death by daughter Patricia (Patty) Hernandez and is survived by his wife Aurora (Dora); daughters Linda Sherwood and Elizabeth (Jeanne) DeLaCruz and husband Victor; brothers Michael Sapp of Tennessee, Eddie Sapp and family of Maryland; and half sister Lois Brown of California. He was ever proud of his eight beautiful granddaughters, grandson and five great grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Rest in peace, Daddy. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Drive with Reverend Richard Tijerina officiating.
