Brett was born on February 19, 1965, in Memphis, Tennessee son of Kitty Maddux Smith and James C. Smith. He had lived in Austin for over thirty years, attended McCallum High School. Brett enjoyed a career as a maintenance contractor with HVAC certification and was a trained automobile mechanic.
Brett's family members are his wife, Shannon Smith of Leander; mother, Kitty M. Smith; father, James C. Smith and his wife Joann Smith; sisters, Alissa Saenz and Kristy King.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 2620 S. Congress in Austin. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home Chapel with a reception following the services.
