James Louis Washington was born on March 26, 1947 in Hufsmith, Texas. James graduated Valedictorian of his class. He joined the U.S. Army after graduation, which he proudly served for 20 years. Following his retirement, he moved to Austin, Texas and served as an IT technician in Travis County for 15 years.
James truly loved the Lord. He was an extraordinary person who always tried to make you feel important. James could put a smile on your face even if you didn’t feel like smiling. He cared for others and would lend a helping hand to anyone. He volunteered for the Capitol Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Brother James served as a faithful usher at both Jubilee Christian Center and Impact Family Church. He also faithfully served as an audio technician and a switcher on the Impact Family Church Production Team. His loyalty, faithfulness, hard-working, humble, and humorous spirit not only left a mark on the people he knew, but changed the lives of those around him.
James fulfilled his teenage dream of film and production through serving on the Impact Family Church Production Team and did so with a giant smile on his face every time he stepped foot in the production room. A faithful and dedicated servant, he is not only a major reason Impact was able to share the priceless message of Jesus to the world over livestream, but a pillar of the team during some of the toughest times in the history of the church.
The joy of the Lord emanated from his whole demeanor while serving on the Production Team. James had a special ability to bring a mix of comic relief, as well as the peace of God, in difficult times. The Production Team counts it an honor to have served alongside this soldier. He was an influential leader, a source of wisdom and direction, as well as an anchor of the team. His legacy of strength, valor, courage, and love will not be forgotten. This page is not long enough to list the positive qualities and lasting legacy James has left on this earth. We stand and salute you, James Louis Washington.
