Jan Peter Getting of Austin, went to his heavenly home on Nov 27, 2007. Jan was born Oct. 25, 1938 in Pittsburg, PA. Friends and family are welcome to a viewing at 1 p.m. and memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church, 9508 Great Hills Trail, Austin, TX. He was the son of Milan Peter Getting and Norma Belle Cibula. Jan is survived by Carolyn M. Getting, his wife of 24 years, daughters Debra Foss, of Pottstown, PA, Pamela Stauffer, of Pennside, PA, son Jan Getting, currently serving in Iraq, Stepsons, Curtis & Gavin Peka, Stepdaughter, Gwen Smith of Haughton, LA, 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Jan was a member of Triumphant Love Lutheran Church in Austin where he could be seen often working on the church computers. Sundays he could often be seen in the 11 am service. Jan will be greatly missed. He was a retired Computer Systems Analyst. He could do everything with computers and was always eager to help. He loved his family and getting together with people.
