On a November 12, 2016, in the peaceful setting of her home in Manchaca, Texas, Jane's soul departed her body and began the journey to heaven. Having fought a two year battle with brain cancer, Jane remained strong in her faith and dedicated to her family. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 1, 1952. In 1964, her family relocated to Dallas, Texas. She married Darrell Rupert in 1972 and lived in various locations throughout the United States while Darrell was serving in the U.S. Air Force. In 1979, they moved to Austin and have lived there since.
Jane attended college at Sam Houston State University for 2 years then completed her degree in Liberal Arts at the University of California, San Bernardino. In 1985 she helped her husband, Darrell, start the CPA firm of Rupert & Associates. She worked there as the manager of business accounting and tax services until she retired in 2015.
A devout Christian, Jane was an active member of the faith community of St Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church where she and her husband were members for 35 years. She was a gifted teacher and used her God-given talent to teach children and adults about the Catholic faith and God's unconditional love. Jane planted the seed of faith in the hearts of many people.
In August 1972, Jane and Darrell spent their honeymoon on Lake Travis in Austin. They fell in love with Austin and the surrounding area, vowing to return to establish their home and put down roots. They had three children: Lawrence (Larry), Stephen and Cecilia. As each married and had children of their own, the family increased and nine grandchildren followed. Since the entire family lived within the vicinity of Austin, there were many family gatherings filled with love and joy.
Jane was in awe of God's creation and spent many days camping, hiking and exploring most of the National Parks in the United States and State Parks in Texas. Many times these experiences were shared with children and grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her husband, Darrell E. Rupert and three children: Lawrence (Larry) Rupert and wife Lindsay, Stephen Rupert and wife Heather and Cecilia Webb and husband Alex.
