Janice Boyd, 76, died on Saturday, October 21 in Austin. She believed that well-informed and questioning citizens were the bedrock of democracy and worked throughout her life in public education, first as a teacher and then an as administrator with the Texas Education Agency.
Her daughter Sarah Boyd and her husband Donald Boyd, both of Austin, survive her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Boyd Grubbs of Austin, and by her parents, Ralph and Meredith Hardy of Fort Worth.
A service commemorating and giving thanks for Janice's life will be held at St. James' Episcopal Church, 1941 Webberville Road in Austin, beginning at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
