

Carolyn Castle Davis, age 60, of Florence, formerly of Austin, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009. Her career included decades as an insurance partner with Bill Nolen & Associates during which time she managed various business ventures and properties. As an entrepreneur, she established and ran several businesses including "Your Secret Service". Over the years, she was a member of many organizations such as ASPCA, American Business Women's Association and Taylor Volunteer Fire Department. She is survived by her daughter, Roxane Davis of Santa Monica, CA; her father, W.T. Castle of Florence; her brother and sisters, Tommy Castle and wife, Donna, Bonita Barr and husband, Bill and Gale Webb and husband, Billy; 4 nephews, 3 nieces, 2 great-nephews and 4 great-nieces. She is also survived by her extended family, all the workers, charity members, and players at Creekside Charity Bingo who were all very dear to her. Carol was a very giving person and throughout her life, she demonstrated passion and care for others. She dedicated her time to the care of her mother and grandmother in their fight with Alzheimers until their death. She volunteered many hours supporting the various organizations that she believed in. Her final gift was being a donor to the Central Texas Blood and Tissue Bank to improve the quality of life for others. Her body will lie in state beginning Noon Thursday, March 26th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin. The family will receive friends Friday, March 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Youngs Funeral Chapel in Florence with the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department present. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Florence, Texas, Brother Troy Allen and Brother Roy Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Florence Cemetery with the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department acting as Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be members of the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, it would have been Carol's wish that memorial contributions be made to any of the charities of Creekside Charity Bingo (Round Rock Band Boosters, American Business Women's Assn., El Amistad Club, Taylor 4H FFA, & Taylor VFD). She devoted many years of service to these charities and truly loved doing it.
