Janie Elizabeth Joyner

Janie Joyner, age 74, of Austin, Texas passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at her residence.

Janie was born December 31,1948 in Red River County to James "Jimmy" Bachman and Betty Jane Rains Bachman. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Wade Witmer.

Janie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She married her soul mate, Guy Joyner, on January 10, 1970, and they were inseparable ever since. They had season tickets to the Texas Longhorns Football games for nearly 20 years, and she loved going to the games. She was always a diehard UT football fan, and she also loved watching all football. Janie worked for Dr. William K. Thomson, DDS for 34 years beginning in 1978. She loved her job, boss, coworkers and especially the patients. She always had a smile on her face and loved being around people and was always dressed to the nines, "matchy matchy" as she called it. She was the kindest person and was a fighter no matter what she was going through.

Her survivors include her husband, Guy Joyner, of Austin; her daughter, Chrissy Witmer and her husband, Michael Witmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Mill Community Center in Austin, Texas.
