

Our beloved sister Janie Nanez passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born in Austin, Texas on July 17, 1946. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Leigh Nanez; parents, Frank and Anselma Lopez. Janie is survived by her husband, Manuel; sisters, Joyce Veloz and husband Frank, Maria Calvo and husband Joe; brothers, Frank Lopez, Jr. and wife Mary, Oscar Lopez Sr. and wife Blanca, Gene Lopez, Carl Knape, Frank Lopez and wife Anita of San Leandro, California; her cherished dog, Marisol; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She retired from the Social Security Administration office after 35 years of dedicated service. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, kind and generous person. We will treasure the way she would always light up the room with her vibrant personality and sense of humor. The family extends our most sincere thanks to all of the physicians and nurses who provided care and compassion, Dr. J.D. Youman, Dr. John Oswald, Dr. Jordon Weingarten, Dr. R.N. Poonawala, Dr. Robert L. Frachtman and Dr. Richard M. Sperling. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, May 2, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel. Entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
