

The viewing will be Friday, the 20th of June, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church located at 3701 W. Slaughter Ln, Austin Texas 78749. A private burial service for immediate family will follow. A memorial service will be held at James Bowie High School located at 4103 W. Slaughter Lane, Austin, Texas 78749 on Saturday, the 21st of June, 2014 at ten o’clock in the morning.
Jason was born September 24, 1971 in Fort Worth, Texas to Julia Elizabeth and Paul Webb Landers.
Jason graduated from Paris High School in 1990. He earned a Bachelor degree in Math from The University of Texas at Austin in 1995, where he played on the men’s club volleyball team. His teaching and coaching career began immediately after graduation at Lockhart High School. In 1998, he joined James Bowie High School, where he taught math and was the head coach of the girls’ volleyball team and over the years, coached various other sports including boy’s and girl’s golf and girls’ basketball. He was also a member of the Austin Junior Volleyball coaching staff for 19 years. Throughout his entire coaching career, Jason has touched thousands of lives, inspired many, and has lead his many teams to countless victories.
Jason was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, spending much of his free time at the golf course. He was a dedicated and loyal fan to his favorite teams: Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and Texas Longhorns.
While at Bowie High School, Jason met the love of his life, Catherine “Cathie” Johnson. They were married on June 24, 2006 in Austin, Texas and welcomed their adorable triplet girls on April 14, 2010. Mary Catherine, Amy Elizabeth, and Julie Marie were the lights of his life.
Jason was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas.
Jason is survived by his wife, Cathie Landers; his three girls, Mary Catherine Landers (4), Amy Elizabeth Landers (4), and Julie Marie Landers (4); mother, Julia Elizabeth Landers; father, Paul Webb Landers; brother, Jon Landers and his wife, Shelley and their three children; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a large supporting cast of friends, coaches, co-workers, players and their families from over the last 20 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jason Landers Family Fund. All donations will be used to cover funeral costs, medical expenses, and establish college education funds for the girls.
