

Jasper Arthur Jones, of Austin, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2005 at the young age of 91. On the first day of this New Year, he was born to eternal life. He is survived by his beautiful and devoted wife of 49 years, Anna Mae, whom he courted for ten years prior to marriage. A niece, Gwen Roberts, of Houston; and nephew, John Cruse, of Kerrville, and many nieces and nephews also survive him by marriage. He was preceded is death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. Jasper retired from the Austin American Statesman after 50 years of service. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Hill City Lodge #456; a 50-year member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry; and a 50-year member of the Ben Hur Temple, which included past president of the Chanters. He was a member of Bee Cave Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 3 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Bee Cave Baptist Church, with Pastor Jimmy Rocquemore officiating. Interment will follow at the White Rock Cemetery in Bee Cave. Serving as pallbearers are John Figer, Patrick McNair, Shane Ellison, Tommy Davis, Danny Davis, and Randy Davis.
