Jean Kuykendall

Jean was born at home on April 6, 1930 in Frostproof, Florida to the late Latimer Maxcy and Laura Milton. She attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

On February 27, 1955 she married Robert Gilden Kuykendall (Gil) from Austin, Texas. The two were married for 58 years.

Always involved in the community, Jean was very active in the Settlement Club, Junior League of Austin, Junior Helping Hand, and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Jean loved the outdoors. Always game for hunting, hiking, fishing and snow skiing…you name it, Jean was on board to try any new adventure.

Jean is survived by her husband Robert Gilden Kuykendall and their four children: Kirk Kuykendall (wife, Ann Lawless Kuykendall), Laura K. Yonge, Maxcy Kuykendall (wife, Laura Hartman Kuykendall), and Wylie K. Masterson (husband Stewart Masterson). Also surviving are 13 grandchildren: Jean Ann Gilbert (husband Travis Gilbert), Patricia Kuykendall and Robert Kuykendall; Ashland Hubbard, Christian Yonge and Ian Yonge; Lat Kuykendall and Charlie Kuykendall; Nina Masterson, Wylie Masterson, Kelly Masterson, Laura Masterson and George Masterson.

Blessed with family and friends and caring neighbors, Jean will long be remembered and missed. A

Celebration of Jean's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3208 Exposition, Austin, TX 78703.
