Jean graduated from Salado High School, retired from the Del Valley Post Office, was a member of the "Over The Hill Gang", and was originally a member of the Crestview Methodist Church and in later years the Milam County Cowboy Church.
Her greatest passions were music, football (UT Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys), and her family.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Pee Wee Poe. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Chamberlain Hill and husband Lewis of Rockdale, Texas and Scottye Lynn Poe of Prescott, Arizona; her grandson, Shane Chamberlain of Rockdale; granddaughters, Chally Poe of Austin and Chasity Shaw and husband Daniel of Gause, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn Barcak, Cadyn Shaw, Danni Shaw and Drew Shaw; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21st at the Milam County Cowboy Church in Rockdale.
Contributions in Jean's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alliance Bible Church in Prescott, AZ.
