

Mrs. Lula Jean Drake Billingsley, known as Jean, was 64 years old and the oldest of five children, born on April 16, 1959 in Austin, Texas, to Annie Mae Drake. Jean was a loving and compassionate woman. She spoke “words of wisdom” to others when giving advice. Jean entered into eternal rest on September 29, 2023 surrounded by her family. Jean was preceded in death by her loving mother, Annie Mae Drake Neal; her precious great-grandmother, Annie Moore; her darling grandmother, Lula Mae Drake; and a beautiful sister, Anita Drake.
On August 24, 2006, Jean was united in holy matrimony to Clinton Billingsley. They were married for 17 years.
Jean professed her faith in Christ and declared Him as her Lord and Savior. Jean was educated in the Austin Public Schools. After graduating, she grew her career for over 14 years into management as an Administrative Dietary Supervisor at Seton-Brackenridge, supervising 35 employees which included food service aides, cashiers, and transporters. Jean’s certifications and awards included the following: Chauffeur’s License, State of Texas Food Handler Certificate, and Certificate of Achievement in Service, Mentoring, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.
She was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jean was also a loving daughter, granddaughter, and sister. She loved her family dearly.
Jean leaves the following memories to cherish; her loving husband, Clinton Billingsley; three beloved children, Keshia Rene Sauls-Smith, Kenneth Myron Sauls, and Kennie Devon Sauls (Teresa); stepchildren, Kaneshia Greene, Reverend Chris Wallace, and Chris Clay; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Drake-Williams, and Lois (Kenneth) Bonds; and one brother, Willie J. Drake; two nieces and seven nephews; father-in-law, Mr. Willie Wilkins; brother-in-law, Robert Billingsley; sister-in-law, Caren Bridgette Billingsley; and a host of extended family and friends.
