Obituary of Jeffrey Gorden Hynes
Jeffrey Gorden Hynes 03/16/1971 - 7/24/2022 It is with broken hearts we announce the tragic passing of Jeffrey Gorden Hynes. Jeffrey was taken from us doing what he loved in the outdoors while hiking in Iceland with his family. Jeffrey had a love of the outdoors since a young boy growing up in Newfoundland and through his work with The Boy Scouts. Jeff was a man who was always prepared, ready and able to do what it took to help others. He started scouting with his son and helped guide him and others towards achieving and living by the core scouting principles. Jeffrey’s life exemplified these principles and he led by example. He was all and more of trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. He also lived by the motto I will do my best to help others, whatever it costs me. His open and friendly nature allowed others to trust and befriend him easily. He was always willing to take on any task big or small to provide service to those around him. He was a loving and devoted father to his two children Olivia and Joshua. He leaves behind to mourn his wife Susan and his two children Olivia and Joshua to whom he was devoted in family , life and marriage. Jeff is survived by his parents Shirley and Peter Hynes of Grand Falls Windsor NL Canada, his brother Brian Hynes, Sister Kayla Polowick (ne Hynes) , Grandfather George Hynes of Grand Falls Windsor, and many aunts uncles and cousins. Memorials in Jeffrey's honor may be made to the Boy Scouts of America- Capitol Area Council https://www.bscacac.org Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldenchapelofthehills.com for the HYNES family.
