My family and I lived on Westmoreland close to Jeffrey's family. My brother Kenneth Read and myself spent many years making memories with Jeffrey and his family as we grew up. My deepest condolences go out to Jamie and Jeffrey's children as well as Bert, Jeffrey's father. I will never forget the many childhood memories spent on Westmoreland with Jeffrey and his family. God bless his father,wife and children. You were very blessed to have him in your lives.

To the Stuenkel family, 

I am so very sorry for your loss. I was blessed to have met Mr. Stuenkel at Capital Veterinary clinic where I worked and from the minute I met him he treated me as though I’d known him for years. My prayers and thoughts are with the Stuenkels and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to have known him.

Praying for Jamie, Kylie and family. Praise God that he has prepared a place for Jeff!

John 14:1-4
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”

It came as such a shock when I received an email from the head of HR at PCL earlier this week notifying of Jeff's passing. He was young, full of vitality, and such a vibrant person. That's the way I'll always remember him. I retired at the end of 2013,  so I wasn't aware he was no longer at PCL. I'd often let him into the building through the back door because I would open up the Receiving, Mail, & Supplies area each morning at 7:30. Jeff was so proud when he told me he had bought a brand new house, as I let him inside. I patted him on the back, congratulated him, and shook his hand. He thanked me and seemed to be somewhat on "cloud nine", I suppose. He would often bring me important contracts to be sent out for Next Day Air delivery via FedEx or UPS. I would process those for him. He would also bring checks from The UT Libraries that needed to go out, ASAP, and I would process those, some of which were for millions of dollars. He once handed me a check for $12 million! I looked at it, gasped, looked at him, and said, "Of course, you won't be seeing ME tomorrow. This here is my ticket to Belize!" He laughed and said, "I wouldn't blame you. I've also been tempted to take off with MY family." I appreciated his sense of humor. He would use the refrigerator in Receiving to store food for one of his parties, or leftovers from one that had ended. That old fridge was literally straight out of the 1960s. A guy who worked at PCL told me he had one in his garage. He placed an ad to get rid of it in The GreenSheet. As long as someone hauled it away, they wouldn't have to pay. In a couple of days he got a phone call from a woman saying she would pay him $200, so he was stunned. Turned out the caller was a set designer for the TV series, Mad Men, which was set in the '60s. She'd have it shipped to L.A. I told Jeff that story. He said we should sell our fridge, and he'd negotiate a higher price. Deep condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. He was one heckuva guy!

Jeff was like a rascally little brother. Big heart and always up to something! That guy could weasel a nickel out of a post. Then he'd turn around a throw an amazing party with the nickel. 

Jeff and I worked together for 11 years. Even though we hadn't worked together for the last 9, there are still so many things that I do or say on a daily basis that were inspired by him. I will continue to think of him fondly and laugh out loud when I see a seal or a hear a beep. Thanks for the good times, Jeff. Bless you.

Jeff was a dear friend and a great guy. We tailgated together at UT and he arranged the best holiday parties ever  for the Libraries. He made everyday better and more joyful. He will be greatly missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to his loving family.

Our most sincere sympathies and condolences. I very much enjoyed working with Jeff over the past two years in the Dept. of Earth and Planetary Sciences at UT.  I admired him for upbeat attitude and courage fight. I am very sorry for your loss.
