

Jerry was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the Air Force, he became a professional house painter in Kerr County, Texas. In 1965 he was hired as a Computer Operator by the Veterans Administration where he worked until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, teaching his children about hunting, gardening, researching his family's genealogy, and doing volunteer work with the South Austin Optimist Club. He loved his wife, four children, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his Church, and all the people of the Dripping Springs Church of Christ.
He will be sorely missed by his wife of 64 years, Loretta; children, Jerry (Patricia) Knox, Larry (Kathy) Knox, Robert Knox, and Susan (Guy) Riley; sister, Sharon (Ed) Lawrence; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and family Friday, July 19, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
