

Jesse Cortez Jr., 48, of Austin, Texas, entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2026.
Born on October 19, 1977, to Jesse Cortez and Sylvia Alvarado at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas, Jesse was a lifelong Austin resident. He graduated from Travis High School and dedicated more than 20 years of faithful service to H-E-B, where he was respected and loved by his coworkers and customers alike.
Jesse had a passion for soccer and enjoyed spending his free time playing golf. He was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. His presence brought joy to family gatherings, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sylvia Alvarado, and his father, Jesse Cortez.
Jesse leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, including his beloved brother, Gabriel Cortez; his devoted sister, Elizabeth Cortez; his Amazing big brother, Joe and his wife Chacha Guerrero; his Nephews, Adam Marez and Gabriel Anthony Cortez Jr.; his Niece, Gia Gamboa; his sister-in-law, Carveila Larroy; his cherished H-E-B family; and many other relatives, lifelong friends, and loved ones who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
A celebration of Jesse's life will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Jesse's love, laughter, and gentle spirit will remain with us always. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love will continue to live on in the hearts. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
