

Jimmie graduated from Santa Anna High School in Santa Anna, Tx. He joined the Army at age 21 and served our country in Vietnam. After the war, Jimmie moved to Austin, Tx where he worked for Bettis Appliances and attended Durham's Business College where he studied electronics. Jimmie spent time in Washington and Oregon where he worked as an installer of dairy equipment and developed his skills as a true craftsman with an acute attention to detail. Jimmie was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 286 for 27 years. He was a talented pipefitter and welder and simply knew how to problem solve and put things together. Jimmie's true passion was classic cars and trucks. He restored vehicles for many years and turned disjointed pieces of rust into works of art for himself and others. Generosity poured out of Jimmie as he was always willing to spend time helping friends and family.
He is preceded in death by brother, J.H. Walker of Austin.
Jimmie is survived by his brothers, H.D. Walker of Austin, Harry Walker of Brownwood, Danny Walker of Abilene; sisters, Donna Patrick of Midland and Ruth Ann Harding of Zephyr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes at 2620 South Congress Avenue in Austin, TX on Thursday October, 17 from 6-8 pm. Graveside Services will 11:00 am Friday, October 18 at Weir Cemetery, Weir, TX.
