

Mr. Jimmy R. Bennett, Sr., 69 passed away February 18, 2016 from a long battle with heart disease. He was born in Marietta, Georgia and moved to Austin in 1969. After serving in the United States Air Force, Jim worked and retired from the City of Austin Department of Planning and Development. He then started Jim Bennett Consulting, where he helped many Homeowners and Business peoples' dreams come true. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Hunting in the wood with his family was a perfect day for him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Loretta; his sons, Jimmy Jr., David, Rodney and wife, Andrea; grandchildren, Jimmy III, Benjamin and wife Amanda, Troy and wife Victoria, Madison, Joseph; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Lucy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jim's favorite charity, The Salvation Army of Austin.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel.
Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas.
