Dear Denise and Family,

I was deeply saddened to learn of Mrs. Dickerson's passing. I had the pleasure to be in her company on two occasions when we visited our family in Texas. From the moment, I met Mrs. Dickerson we hit it off and enjoyed a wonderful conversation at breakfast. She was a beautiful and classy lady and had the most youthful spirit. You are in our prayers. My first memory of Jo Ann is when we had relocated to Langley AFB, Virginia, and soon learned that she and her husband Bob, a fighter pilot, were also assigned at Langley. They invited us to a Halloween party at their home and it proved to be a special evening from great food, beautiful decorations, and great people! We have been close friends ever since always stopping by to visit them for a few days whenever we came to Texas. She was always a warm and welcoming person with something delicious cooked to warm your insides. Wherever they lived, her home always had her superb decorator touch with attention to detail. She was a giving lady who would go the last mile to be of help when needed. During more than 46 years, we have shared many special occasions from holidays, birthdays, marriage of children, and births. We have also shared life’s sad occasions with the homegoing of family members. Jo Ann was a special lady whom we will always remember as a bright star who could make drab look fabulous.

We will miss her greatly and we just wanted to share our thoughts on your loved one and how she was an influencer. Please accept our heartfelt condolences and we pray that good memories will help to provide you with strength and peace.

With love and caring thoughts,

I’ve known Mrs. Dickerson for as long as I can remember, at least 46 years. My earliest memory of her is visiting their home in Austin, Texas as a small child and how kind and fun she was. She bought us Barbies! She could totally hang with the kids. She’s one of those rare people who made children feel special. As a child she made you feel that what you had to say was important. Her house was awesome too. They had a Jack and Jill bathroom that I thought was super cool. She is one of the guests that stood out to my husband of the many people he met on our wedding day. I think she stood out to him because of her genuine warmth and kindness. She will truly be missed. Our condolences to the family. We are praying for you during this difficult time.
