Joe B. Henna

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Tela Henna of Austin, his daughter Janet Beverly and son-in- law Roger of Canyon Lake, son Billy Henna of Austin, daughter Ann Henna Fischer and son-in-law Steve of Dripping Springs. He was known as Papa Joe to his six grandchildren, Gina Engler, Kimberley Bradell, Chelsea Henna, Ryan Beverly, Jake Henna and Keegan Fischer. His step-grandchildren were Carrie Huston, Christi Pellerin, and Richard Beverly. Joe was blessed with seventeen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Maudie Henna; three brothers, Louis Henna, William (Billy) Henna, and Robert (Bob) Henna, and his step-daughter, Corliss Franklin.

Joe graduated from Round Rock High School and attended Texas A&I University and Southwest Texas State University. He was in the Navy for a short time before being self-employed. He then joined the family business at Henna Chevrolet in Round Rock. He became part owner and Vice President when the dealership moved to Austin. He also owned a Chevrolet dealership in Smithville for a few years before retiring.

He served on the Round Rock ISD School Board and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Austin. He was a long-time member of Riverbend Church and attended as long as his health allowed.

Joe's favorite past times included road trips around the country, trips to Mexico, boating on various lakes and daily happy hour with friends in Oak Hill. In earlier years, he was an avid water skier and always kept a boat ready to go on Lake Travis.

Pallbearers for the funeral service are, Ryan Beverly, Travis Engler, Adam Bradell, Andrew Stark, Tracy Huston and Patrick Pellerin.

The family wishes to thank Dr. David Pampe and the staff at Encompass Health Hospice and Heavenly Care Home Health for their attention and service during his final weeks.
