Joe M. Riojas, the last of 13 siblings, passed away at the age of 96 on March 9, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was a WWII veteran having served in the 69th Fighter Squadron as a Sergeant in the Philippines area, in New Guinea, Northern Solomons, and the Southern Philippines, He is preceded in death by his wife, Anselma Trejo Riojas; son, Richard; stepchildren, Eddie Trejo, Bertha Trejo, Adam Trejo and Ernest Trejo.
Joe is survived by his children, Jody White, Carlos Riojas with wife Shirley, Samuel Riojas, Rebecca Riojas; stepchildren, Josie Trejo Delgado, Maria Magdalena Trejo, David Trejo; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe retired after 32 years at Economy Furniture where he became an upholsterer. After meeting his wife he became an active member of the Catholic faith at San Jose Church in Austin.
Visitation 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 6:00 pm.
Funeral Mass 1:00 pm on Monday, March 15, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery with Military Honors.

Currently, due to the substantial public risk, city and state government mandates that social gatherings of limited amounts may occur with strict social distancing protocol. Current COVID protocols for Travis County, guests must wear protective masks at all times while inside the funeral home facility and practice the recommended six foot social distancing.
