Joellen Morse

Josephine Ellen "JoEllen" Morse passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 10, 2008 at the age of 65. She was born in New York City to Isabel and Thomas Lang. After Isabel passed away early in life, Tom married Catherine Hager who loved and adored JoEllen as her own. JoEllen grew up on Long Island where she established lifelong friends. In 1962, she married John R. White and they subsequently had two children. During the 1970s JoEllen lived in Houston and owned a beach house in Galveston with her sister Ann. There they shared many wonderful times together and with family and friends. In the early 80s JoEllen moved to Vermont with her son. In Vermont she met and married her beloved husband Kendall Morse. JoEllen and Kendall enjoyed a full life raising families, growing a business and building two homes together. They also enjoyed playing golf and traveling to visit friends and family. JoEllen devoted her career to helping others. She obtained a nursing degree from Norwich University. She worked as a visiting nurse for many years, a job she truly loved. After retirement she volunteered her nursing skills to several organizations. JoEllen was a devoted mother, adoring grandmother who was beloved by family and friends. Her thoughtfulness and generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew her. JoEllen was preceded in death by her parents and husband Kendall. She is survived by her children John White and his wife Alicia of Austin and Marie Finnegan and her husband Jerry of Tampa, FL; two stepdaughters Kendra Pitillo of Buffalo, NY and Danielle Magnant of Whitingham, VT; four grandchildren Kelley, Patrick, Olivia and Cody; her brother Tom Lang of Austin, two sisters Ann Ellis of Houston and Catherine Tierney of Chester, VA and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Emmaus Catholic Church in Lakeway. Burial will be held in Wilmington, Vermont. Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com
