John Lowell Carrick M.D., born July 26, 1937 to Paul and Lena Carrick, passed away in the early morning hours of March 15, 2007. He was born in Monte Vista, Colorado and spent his early years in Dumas and Pasadena, Texas. John received his undergraduate education at The University of Texas at Austin, and his Post-graduate education at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. John spent the majority of his psychiatric practice life in Austin, Texas before settling in Midland, Texas. John was a devoted son, a father and friend. He is survived by his mother, Lena; son, Robert; longtime friend, Tony; cousins, Thelma Steele and Junior Bassinger. He touched the lives of countless people and he left the world a better place. He will be missed. There will be a private memorial gathering at his home in Austin, on Saturday, March 24, 2007.
