John Thomas Connolly passed away July 22, 2016 at the age of 91. John was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on May 6, 1925. After serving on a hospital ship in the Navy during WWII, John devoted his life to public health, working 40 years for the Heart Association. After retirement he continued his service by teaching defensive driving through AARP.
He was a devoted Catholic and his very strong faith allowed him to fight against prostate cancer, congestive heart failure, and bladder cancer. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife at his side.
John was fiercely proud of his Irish Catholic heritage and dearly loved his wife of 62 years, Mary, and his five children, Mary Ellen Leeds, John Connolly Jr., Kathleen Schneider, Ann Boulter, and Patrick Connolly. He was blessed with ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family would like to especially thank Sharon Shank and Johnnie McGarity.
Services will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, July 26th. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
