John was born in East Orange, New Jersey to John and Bessie Dwyer on March 16, 1945. He grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his sister Virginia where he enjoyed swimming and ice hockey. John served as a Lieutenant in the Army at Fort Bliss, Texas. He then went on to graduate from the University of Texas, El Paso. In 1969, John began his career working on Porsches. He always had a strong interest in little European sports cars—a sharp divergence from his American peers.
In 1978, John became a proud father of his first child, Sloan, who was born in Boulder, Colorado. He quickly ran back across the border to El Paso where his son, Bricklin was born. After trying his hand in the restaurant business, John resumed his career with his first true love, Porsches.
Riding bikes became a way of life for John. In fact, it was this passion that led him to find his loving wife Judy. He and Judy were married in 2003 - after a six year romance - the two would make swimming, riding their bikes, and Formula One their religion.
John is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Sloan and husband Derek Landre, son Bricklin Dwyer and fiancée Stefanie Pleschinger, sister Ginger and husband Tuff Miller, and grandson Cooper Landre.
He worked for Colvin Automotive for the past four years, where he enjoyed his position as a Shop Manager and especially his relationship with K.C. Colvin.
John will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to please donate to Salvation Army in his honor.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 3125 North Lamar Blvd.
