If you knew John, the first thing that would come to your mind is fishing but he was more than just a fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, son, friend, and boss. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need and was a gentleman of all gentlemen. He was an avid deep-sea fisherman and enjoyed taking others out on his beloved boat, The “Renewal” and teach them the art of fishing. He attended The University of Houston and was the owner of Senior Wealth Care in The Woodlands, TX until he retired in 2008.
John is survived by his wife, Shirley, his children, Perry Hanson (Lucy) of Richmond, TX, Tamara Rowe (Carl) of Lindale, TX, Alisa Kura (Steve) of Lakeway, TX, and Tracy Cimo of Georgetown, TX, Brother Howard Hanson (Conchita) and sister Carol (Bob) Weir and 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard “Hank” and Joy Hanson, son Scott Hanson, and daughter Leslie Hanson.
Although we will miss him dearly, we are all joyful knowing he is with the Lord and no longer suffering.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association in his name.
Service will take place on Monday, December 6th. Visitation will be from 11AM-1PM with service and burial beginning at 1PM. Small receptions following burial. Cook-Walden Forest Oaks in Austin TX.
