

Johnny Otahal, age 58, passed away November 13, 2006. He grew up in Cistern, Texas and graduated from Smithville High School in 1967. Johnny attended the University of Texas in Austin and played on the 1969-1970 National Football Championship Team. He worked for two years at Roger Beasley Mazda and devoted almost 30 years of his sales career to Covert Buick. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents John and Beatrice (Vydrzal) Otahal; father-in-law, Cecil Middleton; niece and great nephew, Rose and Ross Jasek. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Ann; his son, Tyler; sisters and their spouses, Elsie and Marvin Jasek, Betty and Conrad Danner, Kathie and Gene Craft; mother-in-law, Jo Ann Middleton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Keith and Terri Middleton; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends Cozy Mills and family. The Holy Rosary will be prayed for Johnny at 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 16 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home on S. Congress. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, November 17, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Father Joe Tomei CSC, officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Rox Covert, Mike Mills, David Sords, Jerry Voight, Billy Vydrzal and Bubba Cameron. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O.
