John Joseph Polidore peacefully passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 73. John was born on September 7, 1951, in West Chester, Pennsylvania. His loving family was father Augustus John “Jack” Polidore, mother Josephine Launi, and younger brother Tom.
John and Tom truly had a wonderful childhood, surrounded by loving and fun parents and the joyful presence of many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Their early years were filled with sports, family game nights, and great food.
John was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and lived a life grounded in faith, kindness, and service to others.
The family grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania before settling in Delran, New Jersey when John was 10 years old. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1969, excelling on the varsity football, wrestling, and baseball teams.
John attended the University of Texas at El Paso, graduating with a B.A. in business administration. He then began a 25-year career with Pathmark and ShopRite supermarkets, taking on roles as Manager of Front End Operations and Manager of Retail Incentives.
In December of 1978, John married Helen Baker, and together they had two sons, John A. and Michael. These years were filled with traveling the entire East Coast in an RV, weekend movie outings, family gatherings, and amazing Sunday pasta dinners at his mother’s home.
John retired from the supermarket industry in 2001 and moved to Austin, Texas. For 25 years, he was a parishioner at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He was deeply committed to his work with St. Vincent de Paul and the Miracle Foundation.
John earned his accounting certification with honors through ACC and worked as an accountant for Jane Allen CPA. During this time, he also handled accounting services for St. Vincent de Paul, as well as many friends and family.
In his spare time, he pursued culinary school, guitar and piano lessons, karate, bowling, sailing, and traveling. Most of all, John was devoted to his family and friends.
John will be remembered for his tireless charity work, pride in his family heritage, love of music, and unique sense of humor that endeared him to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother Tom Polidore; his sons John A. (wife Sarah) and Michael (wife Magali), four beloved grandchildren – Mia, Carlo, Jack, and Luke.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
