Johnnie L Guerra

Affectionately known as "Juanito" to his siblings, and John to friends. He held a special place within his family as the eldest brother. John took pride in his family and forged his own path early in life.

Compelled by a profound sense of duty, John left high school to answer the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. Military service became one of the defining chapters of his life, instilling in him the enduring values of honor, courage, and unwavering commitment. He carried those principles with quiet dignity throughout his life and remained immensely proud of having earned the title of United States Marine.

His tenacity, fearlessness, and steadfast devotion to his fellow Marines earned him the enduring nickname "Johnnie War," a name that reflected both his strength of character and the deep respect he commanded from those who served alongside him.

Following his military service, John became a skilled entrepreneur and owned a television repair shop, where he earned the respect of customers through his knowledge and dedication to his work.

Outside of work, John had a lifelong love of music and especially enjoyed playing the saxophone and tinkering with electronics. Yet, of all the roles he embraced throughout his life, none was more meaningful than that of being a father.

John was the proud father of his beloved daughter, Barbara, his only child. Though life at times placed distance between them, the bond they shared endured. In later years, father and daughter found their way back to one another, cherishing the opportunity to rebuild their relationship and create new memories together. Barbara cared for her father with deep love and devotion, and the time they reclaimed became a treasured chapter in both of their lives.

John was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Guerra; mother, Connie; brothers, Daniel Guerra, Jesse Guerra, Joe Guerra, and Raul Alfaro Jr.

He is survived by his cherished daughter, Barbara Guerra-Deason (Joshua); sisters, Jeannette Trujillo, Linda Guerra, and Toni Eagle; brothers, Raymond Guerra, Jr., and Gabriel Guerra, grandchildren, Christina Robinson (Adam), Alexandria Perez, Angel Perez (Elizabeth), Julian Perez (Haley), and Austin Deason; friend and caregiver, Misty Long; as well as seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

The Guerra family would like to thank Misty for always being compassionate and loving towards Mr.Guerra. Always dedicated to her nursing craft she was able to nurse John back to health several times by providing excellent care. Misty’s family cherished Johnnie and allowed him into their lives. Misty’s care, compassion, and tenderness made a difference in John life, the Guerra family is eternally grateful.
