Jon Michael Virostek

Jon was a beloved son, husband, father, and friend, whose life touched countless people through his kindness, generosity, humor, and unwavering love for family and friends. He found joy in his travels with his soulmate, Daye; his sweet daughter, Ella; crazy high school football days and amazing golf trips with his dear friend, Dan; his “GalPals” on the golf course; and OU football. Those who knew Jon will remember him for his passion for golf, guitars, motorcycles, and music.

Jon graduated from Franklin Road Academy in Nashville, then attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was an avid Sooner fan. In 1993, he met Daye Elkin in Memphis, Tennessee, and they married in 1995. They had one daughter, Ella Daye, in 2001, who was the light of his life. Jon spent his career in banking, developing relationships with banks across Oklahoma and Texas. Daye was his devoted companion of 31 years, complimenting him in so many ways. They were a great team, and Daye was always behind the scenes, making his dreams a reality.

While Jon faced struggles that were not always visible to others, those struggles never diminished his love for Daye, Ella, and the people in his life or his impact on those fortunate enough to know him. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories we shared and in the hope that love is stronger than despair. May Jon now be at peace, free from pain, and forever held in God's grace and everlasting love.

Jon is survived by his wife of 31 years, Daye; his daughter, Ella; his mother, Judy Virostek; his brother, Jayson (Tori); his step-mother, Gwynn Virostek; his brother-in-law, David Elkin (Allison); his sister-in-law, Christy Green Holmes (Kyle); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Virostek.

A celebration of Jon's life will be held on Friday, July 17th, at Covenant Presbyterian at 3:00 pm. The family asks that you honor Jon’s memory by extending kindness, checking in on someone you love, and reminding those around you that they are never alone.
