

Jonathan Royal Orbison died at home on Sunday, May 30 at the age of 51. He was surrounded by family, who loved him and supported his decision to have a peaceful ending of his life on earth. Jonathan was born July 12, 1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a charter member of the First Christian Church of Corpus Christi and graduated from Texas A & I at Kingsville with a bachelor of business administration. He moved to Austin in 1996 after living in Caldwell, Texas for several years. Jon is survived by his mother, Donna Ellis (originally of Pine Tree, Arkansas, she has lived many years in Corpus Christi and Caldwell and now lives in Austin); his sisters, Christal Fisher of Grand Prairie and Diane Tyler and her husband Larry Smith of Liberty Hill; niece Christine Fisher of Pittsburgh, PA and her husband Galen Wachtman and their son, Grant; niece Laura Clark and her husband, Matthew, of Lafayette, CO; step-nephews Patrick Tracy Smith of Austin, Jason Smith of Durham, NC and his family, and step-niece Cele Burt and her family in Thailand. He has many life-long friends who were like brothers to him, most notably, Kevin Kemp of Austin and Kelly Kostelnick of Houston, both formerly of Corpus Christi. Funeral services are Tuesday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, North Lamar.
