

Josephine Sitman Bell Hodges Josephine Sitman Bell Hodges, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away Thursday, November 4, 2004, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was 88 years old. She is survived by her daughter, Glynda Lee Pickens; granddaughter, Cecily Davis Pina with husband Marty and daughter Alexis; grandson Brian Matthew Davis; granddaughter Leah Beth Villareal with husband Daniel and son Caleb; niece Linda McClelland; and very dear friend Charles Clarke. Her husband, Cecil Hodges; grandson, James Christopher Davis; two sisters, a niece and her parents precede her in death. Josephine was born in Dallas, Texas on November 27, 1915. She later moved with her family to Austin, Texas where she lived her next 46 years. This is where she continued her busy lifestyle and became a Memaw to her grandchildren. Josephine was a member of the First United Methodist Church, which she attended regularly every Sunday until she fell ill. She was also a very active member of the Benevolent Patriotic Order of DOES #103 where she held several offices for many years. Josephine also served as a volunteer for the Saint Davids Hospital Auxiliary for 22 years. She enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, and was an avid bridge player. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2004, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive. Special thanks to the second floor rehab department at Heartland Health Care Center where, in her last days, she and her family received an overwhelming abundance of love and support from everyone involved in her care.
