Joyce Eileen Cope, age 80, died Friday, January 12, 2007. She was born on December 11, 1926 in Kittery, Maine. Joyce proudly served in the USO during WWII where she met her husband of 61 years. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to work for the University of Texas for 33 years as a systems analyst. Joyce and her husband raised three children. Post retirement, Joyce enjoyed crossword puzzles, flea markets, bird watching, and collecting. Joyce is survived by her husband George W. Cope, Jr.; son George W. Cope, III; two daughters Janna E. Whitt and Gay W. Wallace; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one brother Kenneth Rich. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Weed¬-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
