

Joyce Edwinson, of Austin, Texas, passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 80. A native Austinite, Joyce, was born in the old Seton Hospital on September 27, 1945. She was the daughter of Vernon and Berteil Kroeger.
Joyce graduated from Travis High School in 1963, and went on to Texas State University, where she was a member of the Strutters, and she earned a degree in Elementary Education.
Joyce worked briefly as a second-grade teacher at St. Elmo Elementary. For many years, she served as a church secretary to The Reverend Malcolm Riker, as well as other Episcopal priests at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Pflugerville.
Joyce loved being a mother and a grandmother. She was always happy to drive many miles in her big silver van with grandkids loaded in the back, or to attend her grandchildren’s numerous sports games, birthday parties, and school functions. She was also known for her delicious cherry pies that she brought to every holiday gathering.
Joyce was actively involved in All Saints’ Episcopal Church. She was a member of the altar guild, The Daughters of the King, and she co-founded a group known as Saints on Call to help other members of All Saints’.
Joyce is survived by her husband Jack, daughter Amy Bray, son-in-law Tim Bray, and their children Dinah and Holt Bray, son Ben Edwinson and his sons Hunter, Cale, and Brooks Edwinson, and her sister Debbie Cartwright and her family.
The family would like to thank Homewatch CareGivers of Austin and Suncrest Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Joyce in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at All Saints’ Episcopal Church on Thursday, October 9, at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow the funeral at Kinsolving Parish Hall.
Interment to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, 4219 Park Road 4 S., Burnet, TX 7861.
