Joyce Linley Johnston

Joyce Linley Johnston, born May 19, 1940 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, passed away peacefully from the arms of her loving daughters to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Although her death was unexpected, we rejoice in the knowledge that she now bask in the glory of the Kingdom that she so faithfully prepared for during her 69 years here on earth. Joyce retired to Austin in 1999 after many years as a resident of Beaumont, Texas. She adored being part of all of her grandchildren's school activities, music and sporting events. Additionally, she felt extremely blessed to have found a wonderful church home at Bannockburn Baptist where she found a place to worship, serve and develop many special friendships. Joyce is survived by two daughters, Judy Sadler of Montgomery, Texas and Jill Griffin and son-in-law, Kitt Griffin of Austin, Texas. Known to them as their "NaNa", she will be forever loved and remembered by her six grandchildren, Blake, Amanda, Katie, Sydney, Morgan and Noah. The family takes this occasion to thank their many friends for the kindnesses which have been given during this time of sorrow. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Bannockburn Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
