Joyce Ann Twomey, age 83 of Cedar Park passed away peacefully from this life on June 11, 2023. She was born on April 3, 1940, to Ray and Mary (Brotherton) McFarland in Fresno, California. Joyce grew up in West Plains, Missouri and had made her home in Cedar Park, Tx for the last 22 years.
Joyce was a member of the Hill Country Nazarene Church in Cedar Park, Tx. She volunteered at the Reveal food bank for many years until Covid kept her from being a volunteer. Joyce was deeply loved by everyone who knew her. Joyce did not ever meet a stranger as her heart welcomed any and everyone. While she was a volunteer for Reveal food bank she was known as the “Bread Lady” or the “Huggy Lady”, as she knew everyone always needed a hug. She firmly believed a little kindness went a long way and hopefully showed her clients that there is always a silver lining ahead. Joyce also had several close friends and one that she “adopted” as her daughter, Linda Starnes.
Joyce was a loving mother, grandma, and to her great grandchildren “G-Maw”. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing puzzles, painting, reading and quilting.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Twomey. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Gordon, brother Jerry Hanley, along with four grandsons, Troy Warren, Colby Smith, Sean Twomey and Brendan Twomey.
