I am so very sorry to hear of Judys passing.  She was an exceptionally warm, kind, gracious and caring person.    For several years, Judy was my sponsor in Al-Anon.  Many times, she gave me the needed perspective which helped me keep my head above water during a time when I was in a very difficult relationship.  I always marveled at the depth and breadth of her knowledge of Program principles  she always seemed to have exactly the right thing to say at the right time!    My most cherished memory of Judy was on Christmas, 1987.  The day started out as a disaster (as Christmases living with active alcoholics can be!), but Judy invited me over to her house where I spent the day with her and her family  and it ended up being not only the nicest Christmas Id ever spent, but the benchmark by which all other Christmases have been measured!      Our paths had diverged over the last several years, but I always held very fond memories of Judy.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My husband Tommy and I went to many Friday night Al-Alon meetings with Judy at what was then the Faulkner Center.  She was a cheerful, upbeat person with a wonderful laugh.  We are sorry for your family's loss, and you and Judy are in our prayers.



I was so sad to hear that my Aunt Judy is no longer with us.  Texas is so far from Michigan and I would have liked to see her more often.  She was so kind to me when she let me stay at her home in Bastrop in the summer of 1981, and I have many wonderful memories of her.  My mother always said Aunt Judy was her 7th birthday present, and Judy always held a special place in her heart, as she did for all of us.  She blessed us all with her talents and her special ways.  My prayers are with her husband and my cousins and I hope she lives in your hearts as my mom does in mine.  Love to you all, Dereka



Dear Joe,   Dear Judy's children,     I was in Al-anon with Judy and always admired her great enthusiasm for life and for what Al-anon meant to her. She was an inspiration for all of us.  My prayers are with you all.



Dear family of Aunt Judy,  I remember as a little girl writing to Aunt Judy, how pretty I always thought she was, and how fond my Mom and Dad were of her.  She was lots of fun and I loved listen to her, and my Mom, (Aunt Betty Jo) catch up on things.  I have a red plastic lobster pin from Maine that she gave me.  I lost the first and cried my eyes out!  When Aunt Judy found out, she sent me another, which I still have to this day. She was a kind and loving Aunt and I know my Mom will be so happy to be with her again!  Love to all, Sara

Dear Joe, Susan, Ken, Jim and Paul      Our family was saddened to learn of Aunt Judys death.  Please accept my deepest condolences and prayers.  She was a warm and caring person, and I know that her loving spirit will help you through the days ahead.      A vivid memory of Aunt Judy is the beautiful decorated eggs she crafted, and I treasure several she made for me years ago.  She will also be remembered for her cooking - especially delicious Mexican dishes.  [I recall she introduced me to artichokes when I was around eight or nine years old. Isnt that a curious memory?]      Our family cant attend the memorial service at St. Ignatius Church on Monday morning; however, please know that I will be thinking of Aunt Judy and keeping your family in my prayers. Dear Susan, Joe, and The Boys, Our family and I send thoughts and  prayers to you today and the days ahead.  We are so saddened to hear about the death of your mother and my favorite aunt.  At the death of someone very special, it is always best to remember all of the visits together, good times and great memories that I have of your mom.  Please know that our entire family is grieving with you, though we are such a long distance away.  I wish that you were not so far away so that we could be there with you on Monday, today, and the many long days that are ahead.  The special memories that I have of your mom are the nights that we would stay awake talking deep into the night, when she would visit G.R.  She would have me laughing so hard that I was always afraid that my mom and dad would wake up and hear us!  (:  I also remember when I moved down to Texas and we celebrated Thanksgiving together.  Continue to keep us posted on any other information that you recieve.  Remember Michigan is not that far away. I also know that my mom, yours, and Aunt Betty Jo are catching up over a cup of tea or coffee.  I can almost hear the laughing, joy, and memories being told. To the family of Judy D'Etcheverry,    My deepest sympathy for your loss. Aunt Judy will always be in my thoughts and prayers.  My fondest memories of her were when I was a young child and she would babysit for my sisters and I when my parents were managing the youth group at church.
