Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Judy passed away peacefully with her family at her side. She was challenged with many physical difficulties over the past 4 years, but she remained active, loving and giving until the very end of her life. Judy was born Judith Ellen Lucas on Sept 23, 1946 in Austin, Texas. She lived for many years with her family in Southern New Jersey and attended St. Josephs High School. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Elementary Education. She spent the majority of her life working with Dismukes Pharmacy, a third generation business in Austin. Realizing her dream, Judy recently taught 1st grade at Gullett Elementary School in northwest Austin and derived much reward from her work. Many students were blessed by her generous and giving spirit, and Judy loved all of her children. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Robert Joseph and Dorris Nicholson Lucas, and mother-in-law Mildred England Dismukes. Judy is survived by her devoted husband, David Payne Dismukes, daughters Melissa Pore and son-in-law Robert David, Heather Hardeman and son-in-law Britt, son David Christian, granddaughter Courtney Ellen, grandsons William Ford and Travis David, sisters Sherri Hartman, and Gaye Lucas and brother-in-law Juergen Kuschnik, father-in-law William I. Dismukes and a multitude of friends who loved her dearly. A rosary will be held at St. Theresas Catholic Church at 4311 Small Drive in Austin, Texas on Monday, April 10th at 8:15 p.m. A memorial service will then be held at St. Theresas on Tuesday, April 11th at 2:00 p.m. with a reception following in the churchs Family Center. Monsignor Edward Jordan will be officiating. The family appreciates all the love and support from our many friends. Judys life was always focused on making a difference in the world, so the family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers any contributions in her memory be made to the Childrens Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas (www.childrensaustin.org) or to the Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org).
