Judith "Judy" Murray Dobkins

Born on August 9, 1938, and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Judy earned her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Trinity University and subsequently obtained her Master of Education degree from Sul Ross State University. Her distinguished career in education spanned several years, during which she dedicated herself to teaching elementary school students in Del Rio, Texas and Austin, Texas, retiring in 1993.

Judy’s remarkable life was characterized by an unwavering commitment to kindness, generosity, and compassion. She held a profound love for her family, friends, and her students. Additionally, she possessed a deep affection for animals, particularly dogs, rabbits, and lizards. Her grandchildren affectionately referred to her as “Grandma Bunny.” She was an avid reader and enjoyed engaging in puzzles.

Judy was deeply cherished by her family and friends and will be profoundly missed. She was a beautiful soul who will be remembered with great love.

Judy is survived by her sons, Grant Dobkins and Kevin Dobkins (Jo-Anne), and their sons, Colin Dobkins and Aidan Dobkins (Lauren), as well as three great-grandchildren, Colin, Landon, and Lily Dobkins. She is also predeceased by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Murray Douglas and her sister, Diane Gochman.

A visitation for Judith will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
