

Jewell (Judy) Hoover, cherished mother, grandmother and great- grandmother passed away June 4, 2015 in Austin, Texas at the age of 91. She was born on February 26, 1924 in Kenedy, Texas to Arch and Eula Overby, the youngest of five children. Her parents and siblings all predeceased her.
She moved to Austin in 1942. Soon after moving here, she met her husband, R.W. Hoover, and they were married June 28, 1946. They had one daughter, Barbara Hoover McEachern. Judy and R.W. shared a long and happy life together until his death in 2007.
She and R.W. traveled around would. They went from hunting moose and caribou in Alaska to a photo safari in Africa with many other adventurous destinations in between.
Judy dedicated her life to her family and took great pride in her grandchildren. Her most recent joy was the birth of her first great-grandchild.
She also spent much of her time helping others. When her daughter was young, she was very involved in her school activities and she also volunteered with her church and many other charitable organizations throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara and her husband Ray McEachern, grandchildren Mark McEachern , his wife Courtney, and their daughter Peyton, Michael McEachern, and Megan McEachern all of Austin. Nephews: Randy Overby and Nicky Overby of Bastrop.
Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks and gratitude to Connie Briones who was not only Judy’s caregiver but a dear friend to her, and she will always be considered a part of our family.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 7th, at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
