Fourteen years? Seriously? It hardly seems possible you’ve been gone that long. Still miss you, of course, or I wouldn’t be here. As all the memories posted in this guestbook show, Julie was a great friend to so many, including me. I have been out of touch and just now found out about her death. I am shocked and numb. I am so sad that I will never again see her great smile or laugh at her wry sense of humor. I always admired her honesty and frankness. Julie, wherever you are, ease up on yourself and be happy!

I'm still reaching for my cell phone, and then I remember. I never knew where you would be; sitting outside in a skirt and tank top while I fought a blizzard on the way home from work, at a table of friends from the radio station, shopping with K&B, with Jan on the way North. Memories of being with you in Montreal and in San Francsico (when I dragged you to the Bagdad Cafe and all you could eat was pudding), waypoints on this amazing journey we traveled. Even 2000+ miles away, you have touched someone.  I only got a chance to meet you a couple of times (through Michelle), but you were always the sweetest person, and always so full of life. Farewell Jules.  You and I weren't that close, yet with the gathering of your friends today, I can only say it was my loss. You certainly leave us here with many people that loved you......I think you knew that.

A brief glance at the memories and emotions shared by those who have signed this guest book is all it takes to appreciate the caliber of person Julia was in life.  I never had the benefit of meeting Julia but it is apparent that those who did were better for having the experience. I did get the chance to meet Julie at a chat chow a couple years back, and i can honestly say if there is person filled with kindness and love it was her.I am very sorry to hear of her passing,it reminds me of a saying i heard before in a movie.A lady knows when it it time to leave, and she certainly was a lady.

It is always a shock to talk to someone the week before and then read of their death in the newspaper.    Julia sounded so brave and hopeful when she told me of the upcoming surgery this month . . it never crossed my mind that that would be the last time I had contact with her.    Julia will be remembered as one of those special people who seemed to always be thinking of others first.

Jules...    I know we didn't always see eye to eye...the fact that you were one of the few women taller than me probably had something to do with that...but it doesn't change the fact that your time came too soon.    Hopefully you can figure out some way of continuing foodies in the afterlife, and I have no doubt that you will have something organized for the webbies whenever they finally get there, even those that have to call eight million times for directions. Although I never met Julie in person, I spoke to her numerous times on the phone.  She was to start work with our company last week.  She was so nice and friendly on the phone, I looked forward to finally meeting her in person.  I was very saddened to hear the news of her passing.  My thoughts and prayers to out to her family and loved ones.  Julie lives on in the memories that you each have of her.  May God comfort each of you during this difficult time.



Julie will always be in my heart, and always on my mind (whether I want her there or not - she's always been stubborn!).  I've only known her a few short years but I feel like I've known her forever.  Jules was someone I could tell anything to, ask anything of, and argue with over just about anything.  She was a dear friend to me who truly opened my eyes to things of this world.  My daugther and I will miss her dearly, she was very important to us.
