Julio Jose “JJ” Gonzalez, age 82, passed away on February 24, 2017 in Austin. JJ was born on August 24, 1934 in Harlingen, TX to Augustin and Maria Gonzalez. He worked as a clerk at the United States Postal Service. JJ was a great man and a loving father.
He married Janie Hiuzar and the couple had four children and they were married for 54 1/2. Together they enjoyed camping and JJ was a huge fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.
JJ is preceded in death by his parents, Augustin and Maria Gonzalez.
JJ is survived by his wife, Janie and his children; John, Diane, Michael and Augie, and six wonderful grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of JJ Gonzalez.
