Julius worked at Gulf Oil/Chevron as a computer specialist and manager for 32 years, retiring early at 55. He was quiet and reserved, but had a fun, goofy sense of humor and kept our household laughing. He loved animals, especially birds, working in the yard, gardening, and traveling. He collected a lot of rocks from his travels. He could build or fix just about anything and was at his happiest when he was building or fixing something for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Kalisek (of Austin), of 55 years, his daughter, Lauren Kalisek and her husband, Neel Baumgardner, and grand-daughters Emma and Claire (of Austin), his daughter, Allison Kalisek Copeland and her husband, Chris Copeland, and grandsons Ian and Graham (of Austin), his sister, Kaylene Berckenhoff and her husband, Leon Berckenhoff (of Katy), his niece, Amanda Long and her husband Jarrett Long (of Arlington), his nephew, Michael Berckenhoff and his wife, Becky Berckenfoff, and great nephew and nieces, Ryder, Ella, and Sophie (of Pearland), and his brother-in law Tim Darilek and sister-in-law Deborah Jamail (of New Braunfels). He was predeceased in death by his parents, Agnes Barta Kalisek and Julius Kalisek, Sr. of Moulton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10 am (Rosary at 9:30 am) followed by lunch in Parish Hall.
Contributions in memory of Julius can be made to Magnolia Hospice (The Remarkable Life Foundation) at https://theremarkablelife.org.
