

June Brooks Tereshkovich June B. Tereshkovich, age 71, of Austin, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 20, 2005. June was born on October 28, 1933, in Richmond, Virginia. June was preceded in death by her parents Aubrey Garland Brooks and Mary Moore Brooks of Richmond, Virginia. June graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1952, and from Pan-American Business School in 1953, both located in Richmond, Virginia. In Richmond, she worked for Richmond Guano Co., and the Virginia Institute for Scientific Research. In 1954, she met George at the U.S.O. Club, Fort Lee, Virginia, and they married July 2, 1955. After Georges discharge from the U.S. Army Quartermaster Training Command, they moved to Griffin, Georgia. There she was employed by Southern States Equipment Corp., Hampton, Georgia. In Griffin, June was involved in a variety of community service activities. She taught Sunday school, served as a volunteer for The Griffin-Spalding Hospital Auxiliary, and participated in several non-profit organizational fund drives. She was an avid bowler, winning many trophies as the highest scoring bowler in womens leagues. She was also an active member in Beta Sigma Phi Business Society. In 1960, she and her husband moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she worked for S & H Green Stamps and the Louisiana Mineral Board. In 1968, the family moved to Lubbock, Texas, where June continued her secretarial career. She worked for The Burkhart Co., W.W. Steel, Mike Klein General Contractor, and Texas Tech University. She continued her community service teaching Sunday school, fund raising for Lubbock Community Concerts, and volunteering at Methodist Hospital Auxiliary. When June retired from Texas Tech, she and George moved to Austin, where she served on The St. Davids Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active member in Providence Presbyterian Church (OPC), Pflugerville, Texas, and she taught Sunday school (young teenagers) for several years. June and her husband traveled extensively to all parts of the world. June never met a stranger and she had a vibrant, outgoing personality. She is survived by her husband George, daughter Carol, and her husband Rick Roberson of Austin, Texas, her grandchildren, Dale and Crystal, her sister Joan Shannon Hendricks of Powhatan, Virginia, and several close relatives. The family will receive guests from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., on Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Providence Presbyterian Church, 17712 Heatherwilde Blvd., Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Interment will be held at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers are Calvin Fujii, Dave Hall, Fritz Krugman, Jeff Levy, Karl Udwary, And Jim Van Dam.
